Happy new year to all of our clients, I hope 2012 is a prosperous year for you all.

It seems you cannot escape the words credit crunch or recession on the news still. David Cameron has said that he expects thing to get worse before they get better which is just what everyone doesn't want to hear.

With this is mind we have decided to keep our special offers on until further notice. Salon M would like to wish all our clients a very merry Xmas and a happy new year.

It's been a hectic year in the salon this year. My wife and I had a baby boy, Tori is now on maternity leave and is due in January and Sheri has just announced she is pregnant and is due round about June.

There's been the usual power cuts, storms, floods and bus strikes to contend with, but on top of all of that the salon has continued to grow and we have employed 2 new stylists this year too.

We would like to thank all of our clients for their support and custom in 2011 and we look forward to seeing you all in the new year.

We'd just like to remind everyone that our beauty therapist Kimberley is now starting to cut down her hours as she draws nearer her due date (29th July). She is fully booked most days so to avoid any dissapointment we advise that you try and give 2 weeks notice for any beauty appointments. 

Her last day will be Saturday 16th July so make sure you get in quick!!

After a few meetings with the "Geordie Shore" production team we finally had our first encounter with 4 of the Geordie participants today. We spent the entire afternoon with the film crew and the guys spray tanning and waxing, getting them ready for their big hot tub party tomorrow night. 

To say it was an interesting encounter is an understatement, there's certainly some colourfull characters appering in the show. The guys will be back in the salon in 2 weeks time getting ready for their next big party and i'm sure they'll have lots of stories to tell again.

The series starts in May and I will keep everyone informed which episode we are to appear in. Stay tuned for more updates!!!

Well done to both Laura and Kaelie who have got their 2011 training programmes well under way. Laura has started her advanced colour training with wella where she will now have a total indepth knowledge of their entire colour portfolio.

Kaelie is now on her level 3 and polishing up her skills on every aspect of hairdressing including colouring, cutting, styling and customer service. This will ensure that she continues with her ultra professionalism whilst learning new skills.

We're back from New Year and all of the girls are over the moon they're back to work (well that's what they told me). I say this every year but honestly, the years are going by faster and faster each year.

2011 will see Tori complete her final stages of the Wella Master Colour Award and the salon will continue to advance with Wella courses a plenty for the rest of the girls.

We'd just like to inform everyone that we've finally dedicated a bit of time to our facebook page and are starting to upload some cool stuff. Yesterday we had a very brave girl called Chloe Bowes who came in and wanted a total re style. The thing was she had been growing her hair for the last 10 years and wanted an Agnes Deyne style cut. Salon M would like to congratulate Tori on passing the first stage of the Wella MCP, she is now officially a Wella colour expert after passing her exam last week. There were a few tears along the way but she got there in the end.

We are now able to take our colour techniques to another level thanks to the knowledge gained on the course and Tori is already sending clients away with superb, radical changes. There's been a lot happening since I last updated you. Married life is going great and the salon continues to grow. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Sheri to our team. Sheri has been hairdressing for over 6 years and has joined us as a full time stylist. She will be added to our staff page on the website as soon as we get an opportunity to photograph her. She wants to wait until after her holiday in June so she looks all brown (girls eh?).

Tori is about to embark on the first stages of her MCP, which is Wella's highest technical course they offer. The course lasts all year and is completed over 5 visits to the Wella academy in Manchester. It's an extremely intense and difficult course so we'd like to wish Tori the best of luck. To be honest I think she just wants to wear the little hat and gown when she graduates!!

We have also just taken on the new TIGI Catwalk range which has been re packaged and are currently running 342 on all TIGI products.
